Jay C. McClung






Jay C. McClung handles TTG corporate and credit risk management issues, specializing in enterprise risk management, BSA/AML and consumer compliance programs, business continuity planning, and asset quality management (credit risk management, credit administration, loan policies and procedures, ALLL methodology, concentrations of credit, credit regulatory compliance, and loan portfolio reviews). Mr. McClung has spent over 40 years working with banks in the Southeastern United States, developing enterprise-wide risk management systems, credit risk management controls for loan administration and review, regulatory compliance policies and procedures, and risk-related policies, procedures, forms, templates, and tracking mechanisms.
 
  • Bank Atlantic, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2000-2012): Mr. McClung served as Chief Risk Officer (2004-2012) responsible for development of the bank’s comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Regulatory Compliance programs (including BSA/AML and Consumer Compliance policies), and as Chief Credit Officer (2000-2004) responsible for all aspects of credit, policy formulation, and enforcement covering the bank’s $4 billion in consumer and commercial loans.
  • Synovus Financial Corp., Columbus, Georgia (1988-2000): Mr. McClung spent twelve years as Chief Credit Officer (1995-2000) responsible for all credit related activities of 36 banks located in four states, and as SVP-Loan Administration (1988-1998) for Synovus’ subsidiary, Columbus Bank & Trust Company - overseeing all loan administration activities including financial analysis, loan review, large credit approvals, special assets, loan operations, credit administration, collections, and real estate appraisals.
  • GE Capital, Stamford, Connecticut (1971-1986): Mr. McClung worked at GE Capital for fourteen years, beginning as a field collector in Pensacola, Florida, and working up to the position of National Industry Marketing Manager in GE Capital’s headquarters, with various duties including asset based lending, private label financing, leasing, leveraged buyouts, inventory financing, equipment financing, and working-capital lending.
  • Farm Credit of Florida (2012–2013): Mr. McClung spent one year as Chief Operations Officer successfully returning operations to profitability from a severe loss.
  • Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia (BS - Business Administration, 1971); during his banking career: chairman/bank committee member responsible for Enterprise Risk, Asset Quality, Loan Administration, Credit Analysis, Internal Asset Review, Investment, Regulatory Compliance, and Audit; oversight responsibility for bank compliance in AML/BSA, Corporate Information Security, Internal Audit, Legal, Special Assets, Internal Asset Review, and Fraud; and chief liaison with the FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve, and State banking regulators.
